What is a philosophy you live by?

Allow people to misunderstand you.

How do you balance structure and chaos?

I find structure and chaos balance themselves when I allow them to exist and ask them what they need to teach me. They never overstay when I give them their own inherent value in this way. I find both of their influence incredibly important in my life.

What drives you in this life?

Pleasure. On the scale of my values it’s right at the top. And when i really think about it, it’s why i get out of bed in the morning and what drives my day.. relishing in and enjoying all the things i love.. coffee, sea, sun, sandwiches..  eat, sleep, repeat.

It’s easy to be encumbered by life’s daily struggles, how do restore balance in your day?

Moving my body, getting in the ocean every day - rain hail or shine - then going home and locking the door.

What evokes freedom in you?

Solitude. Holding space for all the beauty, challenge, love, energy that makes up my life. Becoming unavailable. Ocean swims at 6am.

If you could swim any place in the word right now, where would it be?

Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy, off the rocks.

What is a philosophy you live by?

Everything in moderation including moderation. Sometimes you really need to let your hair down, let loose, don’t think about the repercussions, order both desserts, and other days it’s important to thrive on structure, consistency and goals. You can’t enjoy consistency without chaos. And vice versa.

What is your ultimate summer soundtrack?

The Raes on Wategos playlist is like being on a perpetual holiday.

What language do you dream to be fluent in?

Dhurga, my native language, it’s a very slow and long progress,  I’m so lucky that my language is still here and that I get to learn, and teach it to my kids.

When do you feel most like yourself?

I’m an extreme “homebody” I feel most like myself when the house is cleanse and I have books and tea and time to myself.. in saying that, once I have had that time I also get very itchy feet and need to be grounded constantly! So exploring new places, seeing new areas takes me back to the feeling of being in my element. It lets me really appreciate my home.
